Where do you need support?

Choose the project situation to see the starting decision and information to prepare.

An individual machine

A defined operation is missing, or a machine needs replacing.

Information to bring & first decision
Bring to the discussion
Incoming and outgoing product, reel drawings, available space, and the upstream and downstream machines.
The first decision
Establish the machine boundary first. Its working range, controls and material handling must fit the equipment around it.

An existing line upgrade

You need a new cable range, a different process or additional capacity.

Information to bring & first decision
Bring to the discussion
Current equipment list, actual product/output records, the limiting stage and intended future products.
The first decision
Identify the constraint before adding equipment. A faster main machine may leave cooling, handling or the next process as the limit.

A new production line

You have a cable project and need to define the production scope.

Information to bring & first decision
Bring to the discussion
Cable drawings, bought-in materials, product mix, finished-output target, available building and project priorities.
The first decision
Agree where production starts and ends. In-house drawing, bought-in conductors and specialist external processes produce different equipment lists.

Explore the support scope

Select a service. Agree its deliverables and responsibilities for your equipment.

Layout · connection points · site plan
Inputs, deliverables & scope
Provide
Building dimensions, access points, columns, material flow, reel handling and utility information.
Agree
Agree equipment positions, service access and connection points, then an installation and start-up support plan.
Confirm the boundary
Allocate foundations, lifting, local wiring, piping, utilities and site labour explicitly.

Output to agree
Operating · changeover · maintenance topics
Inputs, deliverables & scope
Provide
Operator roles, language needs, representative products and the tasks the team must perform.
Agree
Agree the operating, adjustment, changeover and routine-maintenance topics to cover, and how completion is recorded.
Confirm the boundary
Confirm location, timing, participants, translation and any additional training needs.

Spare parts & technical service

Identify the right part or focus the technical discussion on a real symptom.

Your input
Machine ID · part reference · symptoms
Output to agree
Part review · technical action list
Inputs, deliverables & scope
Provide
Machine identification, part references or clear photographs, settings, material details and the issue observed.
Agree
Request a confirmed part identity or troubleshooting action list, with availability and commercial terms for the agreed scope.
Confirm the boundary
Confirm the service channel, response arrangement, travel, freight and consumable or wear-part responsibilities.

Five project checkpoints

Open a stage to see what to resolve before moving forward. Timing is agreed for each project.

  1. Define the product

    Review this checkpoint

Provide a cable drawing or known construction, intended products and missing decisions.

    Before moving forward

Agree the product envelope, starting material and project priority before selecting a machine.

  2. Compare the configuration

    Review this checkpoint

Review the proposed process, main machines, auxiliary units and alternatives.

    Before moving forward

Resolve scope exclusions, critical interfaces and the basis of the output requirement before comparing prices.

  3. Prepare the factory

    Review this checkpoint

Review layout, access, utilities, local works and equipment handling.

    Before moving forward

Assign responsibility and readiness dates for the site work needed before installation.

  4. Agree verification & training

    Review this checkpoint

Define representative materials/products, checks, records and operator tasks.

    Before moving forward

Document the agreed checks and support arrangements before equipment handover.

  5. Plan ongoing support

    Review this checkpoint

Identify wear items, maintenance information and the records needed for technical enquiries.

    Before moving forward

Keep machine identifiers and configuration records available for future part and service discussions.

Make the responsibilities visible

Compare equipment, site work and support as separate scope items.

Service and project cost boundaries
Cost or responsibilityWhat changes the scopeWhat to record in the proposal
Equipment & integrationProduct range · tooling · controls
Supply list & exclusions

Record the main machines, ancillary units, control options, tooling, interface work and limits of each machine.

Factory preparationUtilities · access · handling
Assign site responsibilities

Record required building conditions, utility connections, material handling and installation access, with the party responsible for each local work item.

Installation & trainingLocation · duration · personnel
Agree support arrangements

Confirm the work included, language, assistance scope, travel arrangements, customer staffing and site-readiness conditions.

Verification materials & toolsCable samples · compounds · checks
Allocate verification resources

Agree representative cable sizes, compounds, reels and measurement needs. Name who provides trial materials, test instruments, inspection records and product testing.

Parts & continuing supportWear parts · freight · visits
Define service terms

Record included initial parts, separately quoted replacements, identification records, freight, site visits and support terms.

A project budget can identify these cost headings before all values are known. Mark unpriced items as pending; they are not zero-cost or automatically included.

Build the support plan around the equipment

Review connection points, tooling, controls and site requirements against the proposed configuration.

What the equipment reference shows

The catalogue covers individual machines and extrusion-line arrangements. A photograph is a reference for the equipment; the service package and its boundaries must be defined separately.

Project support questions

Can we ask for a configuration review before all cable details are fixed?

Yes. Start with the application, known cable construction, incoming material and your production goal. Mark the missing items explicitly. The first discussion should identify what can be shortlisted and what must be confirmed before equipment and pricing are finalized.

Does installation support include all work at our factory?

Do not assume it does. The proposal should separate technical assistance from foundations, local labour, lifting, utilities, wiring, piping and consumables. Confirm site preparation, travel and accommodation arrangements and the responsibilities of each party.

How should output and equipment checks be agreed?

Name the representative cable, material, dimensions and operating conditions, then state the target in finished metres, coils or reels over a defined period. Agree the checks, trial materials, measurement method and records in the technical scope. A catalogue maximum is not a project acceptance criterion.

Can an existing machine from another supplier be included in the discussion?

It can be identified as equipment to review. Provide its specification, actual working range, reel formats, controls and photographs of the interfaces. Reuse or compatibility should remain subject to technical review rather than assumed from the machine name.

What information helps with a spare-part or technical-service request?

Include the machine model and identification, part reference if available, clear photographs and a description of the problem. For a process issue, add the cable, material, settings and when the issue occurs. Confirm part compatibility, availability and support terms before ordering.
